Company carbon footprint
To achieve our goals in terms of reducing our total emissions as a company, we have teamed up with our independent partner myclimate to calculate our Company Carbon Footprint (CCF). The CCF represents all emissions caused by our business activities, excluding production and products from suppliers.
The method which myclimate applies, is based on the GHG Protocol – an internationally recognized corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard' which includes the climate-relevant greenhouse gases that are under the 'operational control' of the company. The greenhouse gas emissions are assigned to the three internationally used scopes 1-3.
The following factors are considered in the calculation:
- Number of employees and office surface
- Working from home
- Electricity (renewable + conventional)
- Heating and cooling
- Business travel (company cars, public transport and air travel)
- Fuel consumption
- Food and Beverages
- Consumable material (paper, toner, tap water)
- Printed matters
- Electronic devices
- Waste and recycling
By collecting these indicators for every Boxon location on an annual basis, we can analyze where emissions occur the most and to derive efficient local actions to reduce them. More information and figures can be found in our current Sustainability Report.
